In 2010 Porsche unveiled the second generation 997.2 GT3RS, which went on sale for the 2011 model year. It featured an enhanced 997.2 Mezger GT3 engine with 450 hp, along with numerous other upgrades over the regular GT3 such as increased aero, lighter body panels and an overall reduction in vehicle weight.
